M. Cecilia Artigas is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract surgery. Originally from Uruguay, Dr Artigas was raised in NH and TX.

After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, she earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr Artigas completed her internship at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, GA and then went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.

She was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY as a comprehensive and refractive surgeon, and then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Following the completion of her fellowship, she worked at Fort Hood, TX where she practices comprehensive and pediatric ophthalmology. Dr Artigas was honorably discharged from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel and is still proudly serving in the Army Reserves.

Dr Artigas and her family moved back to South Florida in 2021 to raise their children closer to family, and is excited to join South Florida Ophthalmology and be a part of the community. Dr Artigas enjoys traveling and spending time outside with her husband, and their two boys.
